A Wedding DJ in Parga

Maria and Daniel’s wedding in Parga took place on Sunday the 6th of July 2025.

Maria, Greek-American, based in the USA, chose to come to Greece for her wedding day. She chose Parga, on the Ionian coastline, where the old town sits above the water and the Church of Panagia stands on its own small island just offshore.

I was first contacted in October 2024, through a mutual friend, Dionysia, who knew the family. I was on a ferry heading to Bari, Italy at the time. That’s how destination weddings often begin.

The Church on the Island of Panagia

The ceremony took place at the Church of Panagia, a church on its own small island, just off the coast of Parga’s old town. The only way to get there is by boat.

Vendors, guests, family, and everyone gathered at Valtos beach, in front of Tango beach bar, and took small boats across to the island. It’s not a detail you plan for effect,  it’s simply how Parga works.

A Pontian orchestra accompanied the bride as she got ready and escorted her to the church. That music and everything it carried, set the tone for the whole day.

Planning Across Time Zones

One challenge of working with a couple based in the USA is the planning process itself. Our meetings happened over video calls, usually on Thursday afternoons, 9 am New York time.

For the music, I used the VIBO app, a tool that lets couples build their playlist, mark songs, and organise the key moments of the night from their phones. Maria got into it quickly. Her response when she found the app: “It’s wonderful and very easy to use!”

The wedding planner, Meli Weddings (Αγγελική & Γιούλη), coordinated the full vendor team and kept everyone aligned in the final weeks.

A Note on Photos

Maria and Daniel’s private agreement included a clause restricting social media sharing from the wedding. The photos in this post are from my own setup at the venue. No couple or guest photos are published, in line with the terms we agreed.

The Reception: Mango Beach Bar

The reception took place at Mango Beach Bar, an open-air venue by the sea.

The entertainment flow for the night:

The evening opened with 3-4 traditional Greek songs by DJ Seitan. The Pontian orchestra then played for 30-40 minutes, live music that connected the Greek-American guests with something from their roots. A second DJ set followed, then the orchestra returned for a final 15-25 minutes. After that, the night moved into the main DJ party until closing.

No cocktail hour, the plan from the start was to get the party going early and keep the energy up.

The Review

A few weeks after the wedding, I asked Maria and Daniel to share their experience on WeddingWire.

“Most professional DJ, made our wedding absolutely perfect! We loved working with Nikos from start to finish. He respected our wishes, gave us tips on song choices for each part of the evening, and helped us with the overall timeline of the night.”  Maria P., WeddingWire, July 2025 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The planning process matters as much as the night itself. For couples organising a wedding from abroad, having a vendor who communicates clearly and guides them through the decisions is part of what makes it work.

Parga as a Wedding Destination

Parga is not a destination that tries to be something it isn’t. The Venetian castle, the narrow streets, the fishing boats, the church you reach by water, these things exist whether you’re getting married there or not. For a Greek-American couple wanting to bring guests from the USA into contact with the Greece of their family’s background, that matters.

For a wedding DJ, Parga has its own logistics: distances, limited parking, and beach venues with specific setup constraints. Positioning the DJ booth and the orchestra along the full width of the dance floor side, with no tables between them and the guests, is the kind of detail that determines how the night actually feels.

Planning a Wedding DJ in Parga?

If you are planning a destination wedding in Parga or anywhere in Epirus and northwestern Greece, I’d be glad to hear from you.

I work with couples from the US, UK, Canada, and across Europe. The planning process happens over video calls and through the VIBO app, with a final call before the wedding day to confirm every detail.
