Everything You Need to Know Before Booking a Wedding DJ
Below you’ll find answers to the most common wedding DJ FAQ questions I receive from couples. These will help you plan your music and choose the right DJ for your wedding in Greece.
Πόσο καιρό είστε DJ γάμων; / How long have you been a wedding DJ?
I officially started in 2006, presenting my corporate identity under the name DJ4U. In 2018 I rebranded and launched Wedding Jockey under my own name. My roots in music and entertainment go back to 1995, which is why couples often find this FAQ section helpful before we even speak.
Ξεκίνησα επίσημα το 2006 με το όνομα DJ4U. Το 2018 προχώρησα σε rebranding και παρουσίασα το Wedding Jockey κάτω από το όνομά μου. Οι ρίζες μου στη μουσική και τη διασκέδαση πηγαίνουν πίσω στο 1995.
Ποιο είναι το στυλ σας; Σε τι μουσική εξειδικεύεστε; / What is your style? What kind of music do you specialize in?
Κάθε DJ έχει μια κλίση σε συγκεκριμένη θεματική μουσική. Εγώ προτιμώ τις εναλλαγές ελληνικό και ξένο ρεπερτόριο, από κλασικές επιτυχίες μέχρι σύγχρονα hits. Επενδύω επίσης στο πώς φαίνομαι μπροστά και πίσω από το DJ booth, γιατί η εμφάνιση είναι μέρος της εμπειρίας.
Every DJ has a natural pull toward certain music styles. I prefer variety Greek and international repertoire, from timeless classics to current hits. I also invest in how I present myself at the DJ booth, because appearance is part of the overall experience.

Η διαδικασία σχεδιασμού περιλαμβάνει την παράδοση τουλάχιστον 20 τραγουδιών που ΠΡΕΠΕΙ να ακουστούν. Η λίστα μπορεί να είναι και μεγαλύτερη μας βοηθά να καταλάβουμε τα μουσικά σας γούστα. Στατιστικά, λίστες με 30+ τραγούδια περιλαμβάνουν τίτλους που χρειάζονται εξειδικευμένο κοινό και το κατάλληλο timing. Αυτή είναι ακριβώς η δουλειά του DJ.
The planning process includes you sharing at least 20 songs that must be played. Your list can be longer, it helps me understand your musical taste. Statistically, lists of 30+ songs include titles that need the right audience and the right timing. That’s exactly the DJ’s job: good timing, reading the crowd, and respecting your non-negotiables.
Υπάρχουν τραγούδια που έχουν μεγάλη ανταπόκριση; / Are there songs that work for everyone?
Στη σελίδα μου θα βρείτε playlists που καλύπτουν το χορευτικό κομμάτι αλλά και το φαγητό. Οι τάσεις έρχονται από YouTube, Shazam, TikTok, Instagram, λίστες ζευγαριών και DJs μαγαζιών που συνεργάζομαι. Παρόλα αυτά, οι καλεσμένοι σας δεν είναι πάντα ενήμεροι για το τώρα και εκεί ακριβώς οι επιτυχίες προηγούμενων ετών έχουν μεγάλη ανταπόκριση.
On my website you’ll find curated playlists covering both the dinner and the dance floor. Trending information comes from YouTube, Shazam, TikTok, Instagram, couples’ wishlists, and resident DJs I collaborate with. That said, your guests aren’t always up to date with what’s current which is exactly why hits from previous decades often get the biggest response.
Πώς σχεδιάζετε τη διασκέδαση; / How do you plan the entertainment?
Από τη σεζόν 2024 χρησιμοποιώ το Vibo μια εφαρμογή σχεδιασμού που εγκαθιστάτε δωρεάν στη συσκευή σας. Μέσα από αυτήν έχετε πλήρη έλεγχο: απαντάτε σε ερωτήσεις, μοιράζεστε τραγούδια, καλείτε φίλους να προσθέσουν τα γούστα τους, συνδέετε το Spotify σας και εφαρμόζετε το χρονοδιάγραμμα. Είναι πλήρως παραμετροποιημένη για κάθε γάμο.
Since 2024 I use Vibo a dedicated event planning app you install for free on your device. Through it you control the full entertainment experience: answer planning questions, share songs, invite friends to add their preferences, connect your Spotify account, and follow the event timeline. It’s fully customized to each wedding.
Σε ποιες περιοχές αναλαμβάνετε γάμους; / Which areas do you cover?
Η έδρα μου είναι η Κατερίνη και έχω παίξει σε όλη την Ελλάδα, Θεσσαλονίκη, Καβάλα, Χαλκιδική, Μέτσοβο, Αθήνα, Σύρο, Μύκονο, Μάνη, Πάργα, Πρέβεζα, και διεθνώς μέχρι το Μάντσεστερ. Για απομακρυσμένους προορισμούς συνεργάζομαι με τοπικές εταιρείες production υπό την επίβλεψή μου. Φτάνω όπου υπάρχει εμπιστοσύνη.
My base is in Katerini, Greece. I easily cover Thessaloniki, Kavala, Halkidiki, Parga, Metsovo. With full sound and lighting packages I’ve worked in Athens, Piraeus, Mykonos, Syros, Tinos, Thermisia, and Mani. For Rhodes and Crete I travel by air and collaborate with local production companies. The same applies to international destination weddings I bring my console and laptop, and work with trusted local crews.
Τι εξοπλισμό φέρνετε; / What equipment do you provide?
Για γάμους σε όλη την Ελλάδα φέρνω ποιοτικό ηχοσύστημα για μέχρι 200 άτομα και φωτισμό πίστας. Στη βόρεια Ελλάδα μπορώ να καλύψω και fairy lights. Για διεθνείς προορισμούς ταξιδεύω με την κονσόλα και το laptop μου, και συνεργάζομαι με τοπικές εταιρείες production για το πλήρες setup.
For weddings across Greece I bring a quality sound system suitable for up to 200 guests, plus dance floor lighting. For northern Greece I can also provide fairy lights. For international destinations I travel with my DJ console and laptop, and coordinate with trusted local production companies for full sound and lighting setup.
Πόσο νωρίς πρέπει να κλείσουμε ημερομηνία; / How far in advance should we book?
Ζευγάρια που δίνουν μεγάλη βαρύτητα στη μουσική και τη διασκέδαση κλείνουν συνήθως 8 με 12 μήνες νωρίτερα. Το ίδιο ισχύει για international και destination γάμους. Το ελληνικό κοινό μπορεί να φτάσει και 3 μήνες πριν αλλά για δημοφιλείς ημερομηνίες, όσο νωρίτερα τόσο καλύτερα.
Couples who place real importance on music and entertainment typically book 8 to 12 months in advance. The same applies to international and destination couples. Greek couples sometimes book as close as 3 months out but for peak dates in popular destinations, the earlier the better.
Πώς διαμορφώνεται η τιμή για destination γάμους; / How is pricing structured for destination weddings?
Κοιτάζω κάθε περίπτωση ξεχωριστά. Συνήθως δίνω ένα πακέτο που περιλαμβάνει τα πάντα εκτός από τη διανυκτέρευση αλλά πολλές φορές την υπολογίζω κι αυτήν μέσα. Για νησιά όπου η κράτηση γίνεται ένα χρόνο πριν και τα κόστη των πλοίων δεν έχουν ανακοινωθεί, κάνω μια έγκυρη εκτίμηση. Η διαφάνεια στην τιμολόγηση είναι προτεραιότητά μου.
Each destination wedding is priced individually. I typically offer an all-inclusive package sometimes accommodation is included too. For island weddings booked a year in advance when ferry costs haven’t been announced yet, I provide a fair estimate. Transparent pricing is a priority for me.
Do you MC in English?
Yes! I’m fully comfortable hosting and MCing in English throughout the event. Announcements, coordination with the couple and vendors, and any on-the-mic moments are all handled in English for international weddings. For mixed Greek/international crowds, I switch naturally between the two languages depending on the moment.
